Egypt: Military Sacks Morsi, Suspends Constitution - Breaking News

Abdul Fatah Khalil al-Sisi, head of the Egyptian armed forces who addressed a press conference, gave a statement on the country's future: 

He said that the army is only responding to the calls of the Egyptian people and that a transitional technocrat government will take charge in the country. While the head of the constitutional court will head the new government, even as the constitution has been suspended. 

Tahrir Square has erupted in wild celebrations of flag waving and fireworks. 

Morsi's supporters, the Moslem Brotherhood, are adamant and have said they are ready to die with Morsi, whose whereabouts is unknown.

Meanwhile in an official reaction to the military coup, Mohamed Morsi has called on Egyptians to remain peaceful and reject the military truncation of democracy.
